Live Poker – 3 Final Table Deals in the BSOP Main Event

Jose Lesta has won the Main Event of the Brazilian Series of Poker Millions in São Paulo. The Argentinian collected the equivalent of €158,822 in prize money. After the payouts had been adjusted three times.

The BSOP and LAPT were hosted at the Sheraton São Paulo WTC Hotel until November 29. At the end of the 2024 season, 90 events were played. One of the highlights was the R$250,000 The Legends, in which poker pro Leandro Zavodini secured victory and €557,550.

In the R$25,000 Main Event (€3,985), 1,550 participants made a total of 3,093 entries, resulting in prize money of €1.57 million. R$1.45 million (€230,985) was originally offered for the win – at least before the first deal, the second deal and the final chop.

The payouts were adjusted for the first time before the final table. The top 6 received less, while the cashes for places 9 to 7 were increased. R$1.40 million (€223,020) was now waiting for the champion.

Shortly before the dinner break, Gabriel Haeffner fell in 6th place, whereupon the payouts were renegotiated. The players agreed that the top 3 would receive less, while 4th and 5th place would be paid more.

But even this payout structure did not last long. Shortly after the break, another deal was negotiated. Now there was a chop, with each player receiving R$641,200 (€102,143). The prize pool was reduced to R$997,000 (€158,822).

Victory was eventually secured by Jose Lesta, the only Argentinian in the final. The Main Event champion commented on the unusual payout situation to Mundo Poker:

“So, yeah, I don’t have a problem with that. Also, it was eight Brazilians, me against all of them – so I really don’t have a problem. They wanted to make a deal and we adjusted a little bit to work it out. So it’s all good.“
