Live Poker | Banco Casino Bratislava becomes Europe's largest cardroom

As of December 1, there will be a big change at Banco Casino Bratislava – the popular casino will become Europe’s largest cardroom, where only poker will be played. But plenty of it.

A change in the law bans casinos from Bratislava. With the expiry of the licenses, casino after casino had to say goodbye to Bratislava. Banco’s license will also expire on November 30, but they still have permission to operate a poker room. And that is exactly what they are doing and they have big plans for the coming year.

The two big tournaments today and tomorrow are the last ones where you can take a break and hit the machines or play a few balls of roulette. From December 1, the Banco will be all about poker. Of course, there will still be casino action, as there is a cooperation with the Monaco Casino, which is only a few minutes away from the Banco. Not only will there be slots from Banco at Monaco, but some of the staff will also be there.

The next poker festival, the Spanish Poker Festival from December 9 to 16 (€ 150,000 GTD) will take place in the “Banco Pokerroom Bratislava”. And this poker room will definitely stay for a few months. Whether and when the poker room will become a casino again is written in the stars. But the operators of the Banco also see the change as a great opportunity for change.

As usual, the poker room will be open 24/7 during the events, during regular operation it will be 1 pm to open end (note closing days!). There will be cash games from € 1/2 NLH or € 2/2 PLO. Of course, there are also some promotions such as the daily Progressive Bad Beat Jackpot or the High Hand Jackpots.

So what’s new at Banco?

The poker room at Banco is going smoke-free. Really. This won’t please the smokers who will have to go outside, but the majority of players will definitely welcome this change. Banco is also using the time to renovate the premises so that they will soon shine in new splendor. Conversely, no casino action also means that there will soon be much more space available for poker events and therefore more poker tables. This will also make the Banco the largest stand-alone poker room in Europe.

The upcoming festivals

The Spanish Poker Festival with the € 200 + 20 Main Event (€ 150,000 GTD) from December 9 to 16 has been planned for a long time and will be the end of the year at Banco. Many events are already in the pipeline for the first quarter, and the € 200 Banco Casino Championship (€ 200,000 GTD) from January 13 to 20 has already been confirmed and announced. Four mega events with the Polish poker partner have also already been fixed, with a big showdown at the Winter Polish Poker Cup from February 24 to March 2. The other events will follow in May (Spring) and August (Summer) as well as in November, when the Polish Poker Championship will be played again. Just a few weeks ago, a mega-record was set at the PPC with more than 7,000 entries and there are also great events to look forward to in 2025. The Norwegian Banco Championship will also be played for the first time from March 28 to April 6 and hundreds of players from the Nordic countries are expected.

Many events with international partners have already been planned and will be published soon. By the way – the Austrian VereinsPokerTour will also find a home at Banco 2025, and the CheckRaisers will also play at Banco.

If you’re looking for poker action, you’ll find it at Banco. And if you like a bit of casino action, you’ll have to take a few minutes to Monaco. In any case, “Casino is dead, long live poker!” is the motto at Banco and poker players can look forward to a great poker year 2025 at the City Center Bratislava. As usual, you can find all the details about the complete offer at Banco at bancocasino.sk.
